UFC Women’s Bantamweight and Women’s Featherweight champion Amanda Nunes has discussed the possibility of a WWE debut.
With Endeavor announcing a merger between WWE and UFC to form one sports entertainment company earlier this year, there has been a lot of speculation about potential MMA fighters showing up on Raw or SmackDown.
Speaking with the New York Post, Amanda Nunes noted that she’d definitely consider making the transition to pro-wrestling if she received a nice offer.
When asked if she would follow in the footsteps of the likes of her former opponent Ronda Rousey after her MMA career comes to an end, Nunes said:
It depends on the contract, you know?
If the contract is amazing, why not? What I wanted to do in MMA, I did already — even more than I thought in my head when I went through my whole career.
I became a double champion. I wanted only one — I had two … I’m so happy, and whatever comes after I’m done with UFC, we’ll see. For sure, you guys will see me around anyways.
Nunes was Rousey’s final UFC opponent ever, with Rousey unsuccessfully challenging for Nunes’ UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship at UFC 207 in December 2016, and Nunes scoring the victory via a round 1 TKO.
Rousey officially joined WWE in January 2018, after appearing at that year’s Royal Rumble event.
Rousey currently holds the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside fellow former MMA star Shayna Baszler.
