While her husband Cody Rhodes has laid out a challenge to Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam on August 5, Brandi Rhodes has now revealed her plans for the weekend.
Brandi will indeed be in Detroit, Michigan for that weekend, but not to participate in festivities for the Biggest Party of the Summer.
As announced by Brandi on Twitter, she will instead be taking part in a signing at Detroit’s Huntington Place, on behalf of the Dusty Rhodes Foundation, with all proceeds going towards a youth sports club in the local area.
This follows a similar fundraiser Brandi held during WrestleMania weekend at WrestleCon, however, this one may have slightly more personal significance due to it taking place in Brandi’s hometown of Detroit.
Brandi’s announcement read as follows:
We did so well at Mania, let’s do it again at #SummerSlam !!
I will be signing on behalf of the Dusty Rhodes Foundation with 100% of the proceeds going to a Detroit youth sports organization that I have selected
Let’s get together in my hometown and have some fun.
Despite playing a significant role on AEW TV during her and Cody’s three year stint in the company, Brandi has not yet taken up a role in WWE since her AEW exit, only appearing in the crowd at WrestleMania 39 prior to Cody’s main event match with Roman Reigns.
This has not stopped fans clamoring for the former ‘First Lady of AEW’ to show-up by her husband’s side on TV.
Cody Rhodes has now officially laid out a challenge to The Beast Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam, in what would round out their trilogy and seemingly put to bed their three month long feud.
With Cody on a path to carve out his legacy and ultimately achieve what nobody in his family has ever done by becoming WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, The American Nightmare has spoken out on his struggles to separate himself from both his father and brother.
