WWE Hall of Famer Edge has been the talk of the wrestling world over the past few weeks, with news about his WWE contract status coming to light.
Edge wrestled the final match on his WWE contract on last week’s (August 18) episode of SmackDown, when he defeated Sheamus in the main event of the show in his hometown of Toronto.
With Edge’s WWE contract set to expire next month, there has been a lot of speculation about whether he will re-sign with WWE, join AEW, or retire completely.
Yesterday, a report emerged from Wade Keller of PWTorch stating that WWE believed that Edge was ‘AEW bound’ after the two sides reportedly failed to agree terms on a new deal.
Edge took to Twitter to comment on the reports, and now Edge’s final opponent has had his say.
Responding to Edge’s Twitter video, Sheamus poked fun at Edge potentially being done with the company, accusing the WWE Hall of Famer of stealing his shillelagh following SmackDown.
He wrote:
LOANED Edge my shillelagh at the end so he could stay standing & say his bit… haven’t seen it since.
So cops? Small claims? The Mounties??
Edge recently named the WWE stars he believes will be celebrated in 25 years time like he is now.
