Edge has named the WWE stars who could potentially be celebrated as much as he is 25 years from now.
On the August 18 edition of SmackDown, WWE celebrated 25 years of Edge on the main roster with the Rated R Superstar receiving a special night featuring a career retrospective and a first time ever matchup with Sheamus.
With a storied career that has seen multiple world championship wins and countless memorable moments, there are very few wrestlers who have the legacy that the WWE Hall of Famer has assembled.
Following his win over Sheamus in Toronto on SmackDown, Edge spoke with Kayla Braxton for WWE’s The Bump and was asked which young up and comers are potentially going to be celebrated as much as he is 25 years from now.
Naming several stars including current Judgment Day members Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley, he answered:
“Dom. I really think Dom with what he’s learning and what he’s doing. And I really think that 25 years from now he can be sitting here having the same kind of chat.”
“I think Montez Ford, I think both Street Profits. I think Rhea. There’s Theory, there’s Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, Bron Breakker. It really, I would just maybe tell them the same thing, ‘it’s gonna be okay, just breath.'”
Edge actually spent some time working with first Ripley during his time creating and leading The Judgment Day. He then went on to align himself with and then feud with “Dirty Dom” during his rivalry with the group.
Rhea Ripley will defend the WWE Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Payback on September 2.
