A long-time rival of CM Punk has fired a shot at the brand new WWE signee following his return at Survivor Series 2023.
At the conclusion of WWE’s final main roster Premium Live Event of 2023 CM Punk made his return after almost a decade away from the company.
While the reactions from fellow wrestlers varied, one man who unsurprisingly wasn’t full of well wishes to Punk was NJPW star KENTA, who has long had history with the Best in the World.
Punk and KENTA’s issues stem from Punk’s use of the GTS finishing move, a move invented by the Japanese star, something he has voiced his displeasure about many times over the years.
Continuing that theme, KENTA’s response to Punk’s WWE return was a warning that he intended to repay the favor if Punk decides to add to his in-ring repertoire in this latest WWE run.
Taking to Twitter, KENTA said:
I wish he creates another finisher and I’m gonna steal his move as my new finisher
Earlier this year in the lead up to AEW Forbidden Door 2023 there was much talk of Punk and KENTA finally facing off, however, that never materialised, reportedly at KENTA’s request.
KENTA wasn’t the only one to throw some shade at Punk following his WWE arrival, follow this link here to find out more.
