AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has gifted an AEW World Title belt to a NCAA college football bowl winner.
On December 29, the Clemson Tigers narrowly escaped with victory in a close win over the Kentucky Wildcats in the TaxSlayer Bowl with a score of 38-35.
The game took place at Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, which is the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After the win, Tony Khan presented Clemson with a custom-made AEW World Championship belt.
AEW’s social media shared pictures of Dabo Swinney and the team holding the title.
Clemson is the first sports team to receive an AEW World Championship belt. This tradition is usually associated with the WWE, who are known for sending custom WWE Title belts to sports teams after championship games.
It is currently unknown whether All Elite Wrestling will be doing this in the future at the time of this writing.
