A released WWE star has hit back at accusations of ‘copying’ her new character from AEW Women’s champion Toni Storm.
When Dana Brooke showed up in the crowd for TNA’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view on January 13, many immediately noticed a similarity between her new presentation and that of the AEW Women’s Champion.
Now billed under the unique name of Ash By Elegance, the 35-year-old was looking particularly glamorous; kitted out with diamonds earrings, a sparkling dress, and a hairstyle that was reminiscent of the 1950s.
Given the fact that Storm is going for exactly that look with her ‘Timeless’ persona, Ash has been hit with comparisons right off the bat from fans.
So much so that it’s led the Ohio native to tweet a response to those claiming as such.
Noting that she has yet to truly showcase what this new character is through any promos or in-ring work, Ash explained how she and fellow former WWE star Storm are completely unique and different people and should not be compared just off a similar hairstyle.
Ash tweeted:
Relax everyone … it’s a hair style… I haven’t cut a promo, or step foot in the ring & y’all are hating… lemme tell ya something, I like Toni Storm but respectfully she will never be me & I’ll never be her!! But at least your talking about me
While Ash’s tweet will hopefully subside the critical voices, it’s looking like we won’t have too long to wait to see what she has in store for this new fresh beginning in TNA; with the company announcing that she has now officially joined their roster.
