Je’Von Evans made his WWE debut on February 6 in a match that will likely appear on NXT Level Up in the near future.
As recently reported, Evans was previously known as Jay Malachi on the indies and joined WWE at the start of the year.
His debut took place before the February 6 episode of WWE NXT and saw him face Brooks Jensen.
Reception to the match has been positive, with Fightful Select noting that Evans had “impressed officials”.
Evans’ wrestling history has seen him work for DEADLOCK Pro, OVW and AEW among others.
He had three matches on AEW Dark across 2022 and 2023, but didn’t pick up any wins.
The former Jay Malachi was one of a number of independent stars signed following recent tryouts.
Among the other names to have joined the company were Lucky Ali and Brogan Finlay, son of Fit Finlay.
It was recently reported that the February 13 and 20 episodes of WWE NXT would be a double-taping.
The change to the schedule was made as WWE heads to Australia for Elimination Chamber on February 24.
Fightful Select also notes that some NXT production and talent “will also head over for that” with the decision being made to “consolidate the tapings.”
