Details on WWE’s deal with X/Twitter for the upcoming WWE Speed show set to air on the platform this Spring.
During last night’s WrestleMania 40 Kickoff event in Las Vegas, WWE announced the launch of the upcoming ‘WWE Speed’ show set to come to the social media platform.
WWE had previously taped matches for the show, which take place with a five minute time limit.
Via the Hollywood Reporter, more information has emerged on WWE’s deal with X, which is set to last for two years and feature exclusive taped content 52 weeks of the year.
Per Hollywood Reporter:
The Elon Musk-owned social platform, previously known as Twitter, has signed a two-year deal with the WWE for a new exclusive weekly video series. Called WWE Speed, the concept will feature timed matches meant to be completed in five minutes or less.
The series, which is planned to be live to tape, will debut this spring, and will feature WWE superstars from across its roster. The content will be exclusive (the matches will not be repurposed from other WWE programming), with new episodes debuting 52 weeks per year.
One NXT star has already pitched to appear on the show.
