Sting has addressed his AEW future following his retirement from in-ring competition at Revolution 2024.
In the main event of Revolution 2024, Hall of Famer Sting bowed out of wrestling in style at the age of 64 as he and Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks and retained the AEW Tag Team Titles.
Despite not sticking around to defend the titles and continue competing in AEW, a natural question has been whether The Stinger has plans to remain in the company in some capacity going forward.
At the AEW Revolution 2024 media scrum, that question was posed to both Sting and Tony Khan, to which The Icon replied:
“Tony has mentioned me staying on board in some form or fashion.
“We haven’t really worked anything out there yet but I’m sure we’ll have some kind of conversation and I’m saying maybe we’ll see what happens.
“I have no interest in being a manager or anything like that, or an agent. I don’t want to do any of that stuff so I’m not sure what I can offer.”

Despite Sting being unsure of his role right now, Khan would chime in and hail his impact across his 40-year career and over three years in AEW – saying that they were in Sting’s “debt” as a result of his contributions.
Khan continued to say:
“Not only is the door always welcome and open for you, but I hope you will be back.”

Khan said that he and Sting would “figure it out”, with Sting adding that he was “willing to have a talk” regarding staying on in some capacity.
WrestleTalk will be sure to provide further updates on Sting’s AEW future as/when they become available.
