Former 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena has revealed where his loyalties lie between WWE and Hollywood.
John Cena is a former 16-time WWE World Champion and one of the biggest stars to step foot inside a squared circle.
However, Cena has also transitioned over to Hollywood and became a leading name on the silver screen in roles in films, such as Fast & Furious and Peacemaker.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast, John Cena was asked about transitioning from WWE to acting and where his loyalties lie between the two. He answered:
“I don’t think I’ll ever not be a member of the WWE family first… from my perspective, the switch has never happened. You know me, I always speak fondly of WWE, my time and experience there.”
On crediting the fans for making him the performer he is today, Cena said:
“I can’t tell you how much the audience has made me the man I am today. Having to deal with all the polarizing audiences.”
“We’ve seen a lot of performers not be able to do that and to have to do that for so, so long, it teaches you about you and you really go through a journey of self-worth, so I don’t think I’ll ever not be WWE family first.”
John Cena also gave his honest opinion on AEW elsewhere in the interview, which you can read here.
Cena last wrestled in a loss to Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel 2023. It remains to be seen when or if Cena will return to the ring.
