Cody Rhodes’ sister Teil has sent the American Nightmare a heartfelt message following his big Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Win at WrestleMania 40.
A year on from the heartbreak of his loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood, The American Nightmare finally delivered on his word and finished his story in Philadelphia last night (April 7) – ending the 1316 day title reign of the Tribal Chief in the process.
While the title win was special, the celebrations afterwards were equally so – with Cody joined in the ring by WWE stars, friends, backstage names and importantly members of the Rhodes family.
This included his mother Michelle, wife Brandi, father-in-law Otis and sister Teil, with it making an emotional scene inside the ring.
Following this, Teil would take to Twitter to post a short message, citing poignant lyrics from Garth Brooks’ 1994 song The River.
Teil tweeted:
So don’t you sit upon the shoreline
And say you’re satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide
As well as all the stars in the ring that celebrated with Cody, also had support from up in the rafters with a current AEW star pictured in attendance watching his friend’s big moment – click here for full details.
