WWE star Dijak has made a pessimistic prediction about Cody Rhodes’ popularity following him finishing the story at WrestleMania 40.
Since Cody Rhodes returned from injury in January 2023, the American Nightmare has asserted himself as one of WWE’s top babyface stars.
In an emotional and heartwarming moment, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to win the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Night Two.
While the reaction to Cody Rhodes winning has been mostly positive, Dijak has predicted that it’s only a matter of time before fans turn on him.
Taking to Twitter to timestamp his prediction, Dijak wrote:
“It won’t be tomorrow, it won’t be next week, it won’t be next month, might not even be next year… but one day you guys are gonna turn so hard on Cody and boo his ass out of the building and when that day comes all I’m going to do is reference this post and tell you I was right.”
Despite Cody Rhodes being a babyface in AEW too, the former AEW EVP received mostly negative reactions towards the end of his run with the company.
Cody Rhodes has mostly been cheered since returning to WWE in April 2022, however Dijak thinks that fans will be booing Rhodes sooner or later.
Dijak is currently establishing himself as a dominant name on the NXT roster.
He unsuccessfully challenged for Oba Femi’s North American Title alongside Josh Briggs in a three-way match at Saturday’s (April 6) NXT Stand & Deliver premium live event.
It won’t be tomorrow, it won’t be next week, it won’t be next month, might not even be next year… but one day you guys are gonna turn so hard on Cody and boo his ass out of the building and when that day comes all I’m going to do is reference this post and tell you I was right.
