A new report has revealed that new Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has set an all-time WWE WrestleMania record.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to finish his story and become the Undisputed WWE Champion by ending Roman’s 1316 day reign.
This year’s Mania was highly touted by the company as the beginning of a new era and was billed as “the biggest WrestleMania of all time.”
The record business and numbers for the promotion proves just that and it is also true for the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that an internal WWE memo went out to several members of the company stating that between WWE World and Shop, Cody Rhodes sold $1 million in merchandise throughout WrestleMania weekend.
This record breaking number eclipses Cody’s previous record that he achieved during WrestleMania 39 weekend last year.
Also worth note, Rhodes recently re-signed with WWE that will take him past the age of 40.
Cody Rhodes recently teased being “ready” to offer an unlikely star a shot at his Undisputed WWE Championship, which you can read at this link.
