WWE has revealed brand new championship belts on tonight’s April 15 episode of Raw in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
On tonight’s WWE Raw, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque came to the ring to make an important announcement with Adam Pearce.
Bringing the team of The Miz and R-Truth to the ring, they would be presented with brand new championship belts to represent this ‘new era’.
The Raw Team Championship has been renamed the ‘World Tag Team Championship’ and new title belts were unveiled, as you can see below.
R-Truth had a microphone in his hand and reacted with shock and awe at how the ‘magician’ in the ring with them could have just made the belts appear out of nowhere.
After some more confusion, it was clear that R-Truth didn’t recognize Triple H (leading to a hilarious moment of mistaken identity, calling him Tommaso Ciampa) but instead when The Miz explained it in French, Truth understood.
After the presentation, a three-way match was held to determine who would face Awesome Truth first for a title shot.
DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) took on the New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and the Creed Brothers (Brutus and Julius) in the match.
It was DIY that picked up the win.
