The 946: Group’s in-ring debut could determine WWE future

After the formation of the group on WWE television back on the August 24, Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price have taken over Monday Night Raw as the 946.

The group have caused chaos on the show, including abusing and abducting Solo Sikoa on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, leading to Solo being replaced in the Money In The Bank qualifier to close the show.

The 946 have yet to step into the ring, though it has now been confirmed that they will soon show the world what they can do in the ring.

The 946 in-ring debut announced for next week

Several upcoming WWE SmackDown shows are currently being advertised, including the October 2 episode next week in Denver, and the October 9 episode in Lafayette.

It has now been announced that the 946 will be in action on both nights, competing in dark matches following SmackDown in both Denver and Lafayette.

On October 2, Keys, Nima and Price will face off against the Bloodline trio of Jacob Fatu and The Usos, while the October 9 dark match will see the 946 face off against Seth Rollins, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa.

WWE must not get cold feet with the 946

While the two matches will not air on television, the result of them will show how far WWE is truly willing to go with the 946 as a faction on WWE television.

Most of the time the dark matches will see the babyfaces win to send the fans home happy, though doing so runs the risk of immediately neutralising the threat that the group has over the rest of the roster.

The most likely outcome to protect the 946 from taking a loss is to finish the match in a disqualification or another type of non-finish, though the group picking up a pinfall victory over either trio on either night would be a great indication of how much faith WWE has in the group.

There has reportedly been major praise internally in regards to Royce Keys’ work in the group, with him even being touted as a potential future world champion following the group’s formation, so if WWE is serious about elevating Keys to that level, they should not get cold feet about giving him and the 946 marquee wins both in dark matches and on the show itself.
