WWE
We are now a little less than 24 hours away from the 17th annual WWE Money in the Bank premium live event, which is heading to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA.
The show will, as always shake-up the landscape of WWE, as WWE stars ascend to the main event – potentially for the first time – and reigning champions are potentially toppled.
While the briefcase allows the individual holding it to target any champion across any brand, it may not just be the Money in the Bank winners that switch shows.
Here are four WWE SmackDown stars that could potentially be set to leave the show after Money in the Bank:
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre’s post-WrestleMania 42 hiatus to pursue Hollywood has now lasted six months, with fans now more than ready to see “The Scottish Warrior” return to the fold.
A lot has changed since McIntyre was last around, with SmackDown gaining major additions to the main event scene like GUNTHER, Kevin Owens and CM Punk, while on Raw, The Bloodline have recruited McIntyre’s former rival Jacob Fatu, as well as, potentially, Solo Sikoa, based on what we saw this past Monday on Raw.
While McIntyre’s primary focus may very well be on reclaiming his Undisputed WWE Championship, there is certainly an argument that Raw needs him a lot more right now, and on the red brand he could resume his long-standing feud with The Bloodline.
Kiana James
After three months out of a WWE SmackDown ring, Kiana James made her return to NXT this past Tuesday (October 6) when she entered the NXT Women’s Championship number one contender’s battle royal.
While she didn’t win the match, James’ first NXT match in well over two years was a successful one overall as she made it to the final four before being eliminated by Kali Armstrong.
With James not really getting a look in on the blue brand, she may be best served getting a full-time return to NXT. It’s worked wonders for Grayson Waller, so James could potentially follow in his footsteps and finally become NXT Women’s Champion in 2027.
Jordynne Grace
Another member of the SmackDown women’s roster who should maybe be considering a move is Jordynne Grace.
“The Juggernaut” hasn’t wrestled live on Friday nights since April, which is especially surprising as she seemed in line for a decent push when she first arrived on the brand in January this year.
With rumors of a potential new tag team with herself and Ivy Nile, Grace could find herself moved to the Raw brand, or even back to NXT, to kick off this new chapter in her career.
Carmelo Hayes
Since losing the United States Championship to Sami Zayn a month shy of WrestleMania 42, Carmelo Hayes has been chasing that title, but without much success.
While he has had occasional opportunities, he has been passed over for PLE title matches for the likes of Ricky Saints and Baron Corbin; the latter of which was Hayes’ most recent WWE opponent almost two months ago on SmackDown.
Hayes could certainly re-emerge after Money in the Bank and challenge Trick Williams, but unless he’s going to win, WWE would maybe be better moving him to Raw where he can compete against the likes of Chad Gable, Dragon Lee and Ethan Page in the Intercontinental Title picture.
