9. Daniel Bryan Retires (And The Unretires)

Bryan Daniel Bryan Danielson was our guy. He was the underdog babyface we helped win the main event of WrestleMania he wasn’t even supposed to be in. That borderline personal connection with wrestling fans made his injuries in 2014 and 2015 so tragic to watch unfold. Everyone held out hope he would return, but on February 8, 2016 in front of his home state of Washington, Seattle, Bryan cut an emotional retirement speech.

Bryan talked about being grateful for everything wrestling had provided him in his promo; like meeting his wife Brie Bella and the special relationship that he had with Connor The Crusher. And we were just as grateful for him.

And then he only went and made us cry all over again.

Two years after his retirement, we got a just as an emotional speech as Daniel Bryan announced his return to the ring with the now famous Fight For Your Dreams promo.
