10 Moments That LEGIT Made Wrestling Fans Cry

8. Macho Man & Miss Elizabeth Reunion

This is like the grandfather of emotional wrestling moments, just without the xenophobic jokes. I get it, grandad. France surrendering was hilarious.

In 1991, there was no greater wrestling love story than Macho Man Randy Savage – compulsory Randy Savage impression – and Miss Elizabeth (on screen at the very least. The Dark Side of the Ring episode shares a slightly different picture behind the scenes), but the two kayfabe broke up after the Mega Powers imploded with Savage becoming the Macho King, and starting a new relationship with Sensational Sherri, making her a Queen.

At WrestleMania 7, Macho King faced The Ultimate Warrior in a retirement match that he would eventually lose in epic fashion. After the bout, Sherri turned on Savage, kicking the legend while he was down.

Miss Elizabeth was in the crowd and couldn’t just watch as her former man was being abused, and shockingly ran into the ring to pull Sherri off of Macho. All the emotion rushed Liz, Savage and every fan in the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, leading to wrestling’s first couple embracing and everyone bringing on the water works.

Love in professional wrestling is rare, but this moment showed that it was possible on the grandest stage of them all.
