AEW Tag Team Potentially Splitting Up

AEW Tag Team Potentially Splitting Up AEW

Having faced Samoa Joe on the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Isiah Kassidy has opened up about a future change for Private Party.

Highlights from the match with Samoa Joe can be seen below this news story, including the harsh landing that Kassidy experienced as he tried to nail Joe by going over the top rope.

Backstage footage has now emerged on the official AEW account, which can also be seen below, in which Kassidy shares his thoughts on the future of Private Party after the defeat he recently suffered.

Looking at the position of Private Party since joining AEW, Kassidy said:

“When we came back to AEW in January, I felt like Private Party was on its way to becoming AEW Tag Team Champions.

“Fast forward to now, I can’t say that confidently and I think that’s what hurts the most.

“And, if I’m being honest, you know what else hurts? The fact that we’ve been here since day one, literally, the beginning.

“We saw this company when it first started, we was here and we have nothing to show for it.

“It just feels like we’re a big disappointment and when the math isn’t mathing, there has to be a problem with the equation.

“And, it’s a tough pill to swallow but the problem is us.

“We can’t be what we want (by) remaining what we are.”

Asked what’s next for Private Party, Kassidy went on to say:

“Change. Change. And, the first step towards change is awareness and (Marq) Quen and I are aware that what we’ve been doing isn’t working.

“The second step towards change is acceptance and we’ve accepted the fact that the party just might be over.”

Kassidy and Marq Quen signed with AEW in April 2019 and have challenged for the AEW World Tag Team Championships previously though been unsuccessful in their attempts.

In January 2024, Quen returned from an injury that had seen him out of action for more than a year.
