An update has emerged on Sammy Guevara’s AEW status following his recent in-ring absence due to a suspension.
It was reported in early-March that AEW suspended Sammy Guevara after “concussion protocol was not followed” in his match against Jeff Hardy at the February 14 Rampage taping.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sammy Guevara is no longer suspended.
Noting that ideas have been pitched for his return to TV, Meltzer wrote:
Sammy Guevara is no longer suspended but there’s no word on when he’ll be cycled back into storylines.
There has been stuff pitched but nothing confirmed
Guevara last wrestled on the February 24 edition of AEW Collision, losing to Powerhouse Hobbs in singles action.
There has been some speculation about Guevara potentially joining Chris Jericho’s new alliance, following Jericho aligning himself with Big Bill.
Jeff Hardy hasn’t wrestled since losing to Guevara during their Rampage match in February.
