10 most insane moments of Jeff Hardy’s career

4. The first big Swanton Bomb – WrestleMania 2000

The first triangle ladder match, the first in the trilogy of these teams, and the first absolutely insane Swanton Bomb from Jeff Hardy.

WrestleMania 2000 isn’t remember for a lot of good things, but the highlight of the night was this ladder match. It was a precursor to just how crazy things would get over the next year with the introduction of the TLC match, but this bout did feature some pretty crazy moments.

The biggest move of the match came when Christian hit Bubba Ray Dudley with the ring bell and laid him out across a table, setting Jeff Hardy up for the biggest moment of his young career. Hardy climbed the ladder in the entrance-way and jumped off, hitting a Swanton Bomb on Dudley… sort of.

This one looks especially painful for Jeff as the top of his back is able to put Bubba Ray through the table but his lower body overshot the table and resulted in Jeff smashing his tailbone on the floor. Hardy was in a great deal of pain afterwards, as backstage footage showed him lying on the locker-room floor with ice packs on his lower back. However, this was Hardy’s first WrestleMania moment and it is one that still ends up on highlight reels today.

3. Into the Abyss – Destination X 2005

The biggest move from Hardy’s TNA career came during his first run with the company in the mid-2000s. Hardy and Abyss did battle in a Falls Count Anywhere match at the Destination X pay-per-view in 2005 and Hardy gave the TNA fans an unforgettable moment.

As the match reached the midway point, Hardy placed Abyss on a pair of tables and began to ascend the Impact Zone set before finding himself atop the stage. Hardy dove off the stage and crushed Abyss with an insane Swanton Bomb in what did not end up being the finish of the match because… TNA.

The match would continue and Hardy would ultimately end up getting the win with a Twist of Fate on a ladder. Afterwards Abyss hit Hardy with a Black Hole Slam onto a pile of thumbtacks to leave him laying because… TNA.

While the logic of the match is less than stellar, the Swanton Bomb in this match is still legendary and you can count the seconds of airtime Hardy gets before landing on Abyss.
