2. Braun Strowman Wins the Universal Title
Speaking of crowning a new champion, one popular candidate to take over the mantle will surely be ‘The Monster Among Men’. In fact, beyond being just a popular choice, we’ve likely reached the point where Strowman needs to claim the belt.
Previously believed to be impervious to big losses, that theory was too often put to the test in 2018. The behemoth, who easily swept aside the likes of Elias and Kevin Owens, repeatedly faltered when the biggest prize was on the line.
In five Universal Title challenges dating back to SummerSlam in 2017, Strowman has failed to triumph in any of them, with the most recent loss coming in barely three minutes against Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel.
I’m not sure how many more championship losses Braun can rack up before he stops being seen as a credible threat and starts becoming the modern-day Kane – a reliable body with a respected career, yet someone who could never quite break into that upper echelon of talent.
Instead of finding out, just hand the giant Meat Castle the belt and let’s see what he can do.
