Money. Money. Money. This race was a close one but despite fans literally walking out on the main event of Backlash, it’s hard to ignore the disaster that was the glorified house show called Crown Jewel. From the fact that it still took place in Saudi Arabia following the Khashoggi murder, Hulk Hogan’s first WWE appearance following his racist tirade and “apology”, Shane McMahon becoming “best in the world,” the squash of Braun Stroman and re-continuation of the absent Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, the unfortunate return of Shawn Michaels and the poor match that featured it, the list just goes on and on where this clearly was not an all time classic that will be mentioned for years to come.
