AEW
A new AEW star emerged at All Out in the form of Dani Luna, making her debut in a losing effort after challenging TBS Champion Persephone.
A former WWE and TNA Wrestling star, British-born Dani Luna made her AEW debut on September 26, with her signing being confirmed shortly thereafter by Tony Khan.
No stranger to wrestling titles, Luna’s failure to become TBS Champion is unlikely to put an end to her quest for the gold:
Tag Team Gold
A two-time TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion, Dani Luna would be a good fit for that division in AEW, particularly with the likes of the Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) representing the United Kingdom and a harder-hitting style of wrestling.
Sadly, AEW is yet to introduce a Women’s World Trios Championship, but there’s plenty of opportunity in the tag team division for Luna to succeed.
Pick A Title, Any Title
Her time in WWE may not have seen any titles, but she would contend for the NXT UK Women’s Championship.
Independent wrestling has seen more success, with the star being a former Revolution Pro British Women’s Champion, a title that would also be held by Jamie Hayter, Mina Shirakawa, Alex Windsor and Mercedes Mone; quite the pedigree for that championship when it comes to AEW stars.
Luna is likely to find herself in the title picture once again, but which championship will be in her sights remains to be seen.
Bring on the Subculture
Towards the end of her WWE run, Luna teamed with Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster as Subculture, with the trio going on to feature on the independent wrestling scene.
Andrews and Webster were NXT UK Tag Team Champions and held the Impact World Tag Team Championship, with the pair continuing to appear on the independent wrestling scene.
As a trio, they could light up the AEW ring with undeniable charisma, energy and their own look.
Standing out in a deep roster
AEW benefits from a deep women’s roster and, for Luna, this is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate her potential as a stand out star.
While there may be focus on the top of the card, there is more than enough talent on the women’s roster to have stars bubbling up with the right push.
It’s difficult to see Luna having been brought in without a vision of where she could go in the future, and there’s ample first-time-ever matches to be had on Dynamite, Collision and Ring of Honor for the star.
Where Dani Luna belongs
Dani Luna’s tenth anniversary as a professional wrestler is fast approaching towards the end of this year, and she’s landed on her feet over in AEW, tweeting “right where I’m supposed to be. ALL ELITE” in response to Tony Khan’s announcement of her signing.
Standing at 5′ 4″ (163 cm), Luna is clearly the type of star that many opponents will overlook, but they are likely to do so at their peril, with Luna having quite the in-ring arsenal under her control.
Hopefully, opportunities will arise for the star to prove that she is, indeed, All Elite.
