Lil Yachty Next WWE Match Following Sunday Night’s Main Event In-Ring Debut

Lil Yachty made his WWE in-ring debut at Sunday Night’s Main Event, with the musician finding success in his first pro-wrestling match.

The celebrity defeated WWE US Champion Baron Corbin on September 6 in a Survive and Advance match, lasting five minutes against the WWE US Champion to earn Trick Williams an instant title match, which Williams ultimately won.

With Yachty having now had his debut match, there are a number of options for the multi-time Grammy Award nominee’s next opponent.

Here are five potential matches for Lil Yachty, following his WWE in-ring debut.

Baron Corbin

With Lil Yachty causing the downfall of Baron Corbin on Sunday Night’s Main Event, it would make sense for the now-former US Champion to want to run it back.

Corbin and Yachty’s recent match featured a lot of smoke and mirrors, from interference to foreign objects, to the low blow which allowed the musician to survive long enough for the clock to run down.

We could see Baron Corbin call for a match with more traditional rules, which would allow the former champion to even the scoreboard.

From a behind-the-scenes perspective, facing the same person in multiple matches would only help Yachty’s in-ring progression.

The Creed Brothers

Ahead of his WWE in-ring debut, Lil Yachty was reportedly training with WWE Raw star Ivy Nile, and her husband, fitness instructor Ari Levy.

While we probably won’t be seeing Yachty square off against Nile in an official match, we could see him and Trick Williams step into the ring against Nile’s American Made factionmates, Julius & Brutus Creed.

With the Creed Brothers’ recent NXT return on the September 1 episode, an extended stay could see them at the Performance Center more often, where they could help to mentor Lil Yachty during his training.

With a Lil Yachty & Trick Williams tag-team feeling inevitable, the Creed Brothers would be great opponents for the SmackDown tandem.

Royal Rumble

Following Bad Bunny’s WWE in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37 in 2021, he next stepped into the ring at the 2022 Royal Rumble match.

With Lil Yachty having numerous tour dates scheduled for the rest of the year, we could see him follow in Bad Bunny’s footsteps and show up unannounced at the upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event.

The 2027 Royal Rumble event will emanate from State Farm Stadium in February, and will feature a 30-man over-the-top-rope contest to determine one of the world title challengers for WrestleMania 43.

With Lil Yachty’s busy schedule outside of WWE, the star’s return for Royal Rumble would be a welcome one.

Sami Zayn

Given their history, Sami Zayn would be a great next opponent for Lil Yachty, now that the rapper has had his first match.

Lil Yachty’s first aligned himself with Trick Williams on the road to WrestleMania 42, ahead of Williams challenging for Sami Zayn’s US Championship.

Trick Williams went on to defeat Sami Zayn for the gold on April 19, and defend the gold against Zayn at Backlash, with Lil Yachty’s interference sealing the deal in both matches.

While Sami Zayn is currently in the Undisputed WWE Championship picture, we could soon see him share the ring with the man who cost him his previous US Title reign.

Trick Williams

The chances of Trick Williams and Lil Yachty ending their alliance following WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event are low… but not zero.

Williams and Yachty have been great allies on WWE TV this year, with both of Trick Williams’ US Championship wins influenced by the musician.

While a Trick Williams vs Lil Yachty storyline might not be the most obvious direction now, the duo would likely work well in the ring together, given the fact that Williams previously helped to train Yachty.

The duo have proven that they have a lot of chemistry as an on-screen partnership, it would be interesting to see how their fair as opponents.
