Title Change At WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event

A title change took place to kick off tonight’s WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event show in Atlanta, Georgia.

For the first-time ever, WWE hosted a ‘Sunday’ Night’s Main Event show instead of the typical Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Atlanta, Georgia tonight.

The show featured several big matches, including the in-ring debut of rapper Lil Yachty in WWE.

Yachty stepped into the ring in his hometown to face off against United States Champion Baron Corbin in the opening match, with the stipulation being that if Yachty could last five minutes in the ring with Corbin, then Trick Williams would get a shot at the United States Championship later in the night.

Trick Williams Regains United States Championship At Saturday Night’s Main Event

Yachty would get the jump on Corbin with a microphone to kick off the match, with Yachty then going on to survive the five minutes against Corbin, earning Trick his rematch for the United States Championship in the process.

Trick would then go on to pick up the win over Corbin, regaining the United States Championship that he lost to Corbin back at SummerSlam.

This marks the start of Trick’s second reign with the title, as his first began at WrestleMania 42 when he defeated Sami Zayn to win the title.

New Faces In United States Championship Division

With Trick regaining the United States Championship, WWE needs to make sure that this reign covers new ground that was not covered during Trick’s initial reign.

Trick spent most of his reign feuding with Ricky Saints, Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin for the title, with his one singles match with Carmelo Hayes going to a non-finish to set up Corbin’s return and eventual title win.

Aside from an official one on one match with Hayes and a rivalry playing off their history, Trick has plenty of other new and interesting faces on SmackDown that he could face for the title this go around.

From the recently revived Johnny Gargano, to both members of Fraxiom and even the newly debuting Kyoki, pairing Trick up with more established wrestlers will play to his strengths in the ring, and help him elevate his game as a wrestler to match his undeniable future top star charisma and gift of gab.
