WWE
WWE Worlds Collide takes place on September 26, and a major faction change may take place on the crossover show.
Currently a five-match card, WWE Worlds Collide features representatives from no less than five factions across the main roster and AAA.
With the show just over a week away, the possibility exists that all the factions that go into the Chicago show may not leave intact:
Roxanne Perez
Representing Judgment Day, Roxanne Perez faces La Catalina for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.
Already popular in AAA, Perez approaches Worlds Collide at a time when Liv Morgan is no longer the Women’s World Champion. Whether the Morgan wants to see Perez become a champion in her own right will be revealed on September 26, but it could be a defining moment should she interfere. In an ideal world, Perez could do well in stopping any shenanigans from Judgment Day, seeking a fair fight with La Catalina, regardless of the eventual outcome and future in the faction.
Judgment Day & El Ojo
CM Punk teased the possibility of an appearance at Worlds Collide, with that now being confirmed in the form of a six-man tag team match that sees him on the side of El Grande Americano & Rey Mysterio.
Standing opposite the trio will be Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Omos, putting the now former AAA Mega Champion in a position that could see him break ranks with either Judgment Day or El Ojo.
Mysterio has reported been “frustrated” by his WWE main roster booking when compared to how he has been portrayed in AAA, and Worlds Collide would be the perfect opportunity for the star to ditch Judgment Day and for Omos to deliver the killer blow to McDonagh, signalling his own main roster return.
Los Perros del Mal
Facing Lucha Brothers (Penta & Rey Fenix) will be two members of Los Perros del Mal (Daga, Angel or Berto), with it unlikely that any of the faction will split at Worlds Collide given that the current incarnation only formed in June of this year.
Las Tóxicas
Flammer, La Hiedra & Maravilla are mainstays of AAA, and they are another faction that is unlikely to fall apart at Allstate Arena.
Fatal Influence
Called up the main roster in April, Fatal Influence will face Las Tóxicas at Worlds Collide.
With Jacy Jayne as Women’s United States Champion and Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid as Women’s Tag Team Champions, Fatal Influence will go into the match with their customary confidence and are likely to leave as unit, retaining all the swagger to boot.
Judgment Day Is Coming
Surely, now is the time to pull the trigger on the downfall of Judgment Day, a faction that has been around since early 2022. In its current form, there’s arguments to be made that Roxanne Perez isn’t reaching her full potential in the shadow of Liv Morgan and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez. Then there’s the frustration felt by Dominik Mysterio, with the star excelling in AAA and just another cog in Judgment Day.
Both Mysterio and Perez have demonstrated their popularity, not just in AAA, but when given the spotlight in WWE, and they certainly have the ability to excel in other circumstances.
As for Liv Morgan, convinced of her own quality, she could become further isolated, which would be a solid direction for the star, adding a darker edge to her persona as she watched Perez and Rodriguez flourish without her.
