WWE title changes before Money in the Bank 2026: Will more new champions be crowned before October 10?

September has been a month of title changes in WWE, with four world championships changing hands across Raw, SmackDown and AAA.

While the company is only two weeks away from its next PLE with Money in the Bank 2026 on October 10, they may not be content to wait for that show to pull out a few more surprises.

Here are two potential title changes we could see before WWE Money in the Bank 2026:

Baron Corbin wins back WWE United States Championship from Trick Williams

As confirmed by WWE yesterday (September 23), Trick Williams will be putting his United States Title on the line against former champion Baron Corbin on the September 25 episode of SmackDown.

Unlike their previous encounters however, there is a stipulation also in place, as Corbin and Trick will do battle inside a Steel Cage in Indianapolis.

Given the stipulation, one would think that this match will be the last instalment in the feud, and many fans will likely also be hoping that will be the case as well. The feud served its purpose in getting Trick on the chase for a while and giving Corbin a boost upon his return, however, it is now time to bring it to a close.

While Trick winning is certainly the likelier outcome, his qualification for Money in the Bank could also mean he is moving away from the mid-card. Corbin recapturing the gold would allow for Trick to ascend further up the card, and invite another babyface, such as Carmelo Hayes, to re-enter title contention at long last.

Liv Morgan reclaims Women’s World Championship from Stephanie Vaquer

An incredibly rare title change at a non-televised WWE live event is what fans in Santiago, Chile were treated to on September 12, when their home favorite Stephanie Vaquer dethroned Liv Morgan to become the new Women’s World Champion.

With that, Vaquer will seemingly be heading into New Orleans as the champion, and with Becky Lynch and Morgan circling the gold, it feels likely we get a three-way at Money in the Bank.

If WWE has other match ideas for the Money in the Bank card, that title match – whether it be a singles between Vaquer and Morgan – or a three-way involving Lynch as well – could lead to the title being changed right back to the former champion.

Having Vaquer win the title in Chile was absolutely worth doing, but WWE may have grander plans that involve Liv being champion again – perhaps involving Money in the Bank and a potential Roxanne Perez cash-in – so swapping the gold back may be what they go with before October 10.
