Who Should Challenge For Every Main Roster Title Following Survivor Series?

7. Raw Tag Team Championship – RETRIBUTION

Current Champions – The New Day

There are multiple words you could use to describe RETRIBUTION’s current main roster run, and none of them are positive. After smashing windows, spray painting signs, and members quitting because the stable is so bad, RETRIBUTION needs something to make them look like somewhat of a threat.

Despite the terrible booking, the wrestlers involved here are undeniably good. Any combination of Dominik Dijakovic, Mustafa Ali, Shane Thorne or Dio Maddin vs. The New Day would create great matches. Not only that, Ali and the New Day are some of the best on the mic which would create a great build and some excitement, which hasn’t been seen around RETRIBUTION since they debuted. While the team may be beyond saving, unmasking the members, changing their names, and giving them some wins will help tremendously.

6. SmackDown Tag Team Championship – Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake

Current Champions – The Street Profits

If we look at the other tag teams currently available on the blue brand, we have Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode and Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. Neither of them tag teams would create a unique feud against the Street Profits so why not have the Forgotten Sons return? While we have seen the Sons and the Profits face-off down in NXT, it has yet to be seen on the main roster.

Following Jaxson Ryker’s tweets during the Black Lives Matter movement and a global pandemic, cutting Ryker from the group would be the best option. The controversy and baggage that now comes with Ryker, is not worth it at all. While we haven’t seen any of them since the Money In The Bank pay per view on May 10, 2020, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake have been punished by their partner’s actions. If WWE can build on the momentum they started to build before they disappeared, and separate the two from Ryker, Cutler and Blake could make a great team.

5. Women’s Tag Team Championship – Ember Moon & Toni Storm

Current Champions – Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

While it is likely that we could see Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler vs. Lana and a partner of her choice, the Women’s Tag Team Champions need to go to other brands. Unlike Sasha Banks and Bayley, Jax and Baszler have only appeared on RAW throughout their entire reign. Seeing the Golden Role Models on NXT was so exciting due to their history on the brand, and with Shayna being one of the greatest NXT Women’s champions of all time, a return alongside Jax would be great.

It looks that Ember and Toni could be apart of Shotzi Blackheart’s team at WarGames, but following that, a tag title feud and possible championship win would bring in some needed viewers for NXT. Both women are phenomenal athletes who should be top contenders for Io Shirai, so prolonging the eventual feuds could lead to a bigger match at a future Takeover. The Women’s Tag Team Titles need some freshening up, and I couldn’t think of a better way to do it other than putting it on the black and gold brand.

4. Raw Women’s Championship – RECKONING/Mia Yim

Current Champion – Asuka

Asuka’s last pay per view championship match was against Zelina Vega at Clash of Champions two months ago. If that doesn’t tell you how much WWE cares about Asuka, I don’t know what will. The Raw Women’s Title is crying out for a decent feud similar to its SmackDown counterpart. Sasha Banks and Bayley has been one of the hottest feuds in the company, and while a match between RECKONING vs. Asuka may not be as well built, it would give both women something to do.

Similar to the men of the stable, the terrible booking of RETRIBUTION can make people forget how good the wrestlers involved are. Mia Yim is a great performer, in NXT she had brilliant matches against the likes of Candice LeRae, Io Shirai and Dakota Kai, therefore it’s almost guaranteed her matches with Asuka would be similarly exceptional. Go back to the Mia Yim name, and let her be herself in a fresh feud against the “Empress of Tomorrow.”
