With the fall now upon us, we can begin to start thinking about 2027 and WWE’s first major event of the year: the Royal Rumble.
The 2027 event will be taking place at the State Far Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and there are already some early favourites emerging for the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Here are three potential plans for the winner of the 2027 WWE Men’s Royal Rumble.
Oba Femi
Pretty much everyone watching WWE’s product in 2026 would unanimously agree that Oba Femi is the frontrunner for the 2027 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
‘The Ruler’ has won King of the Ring, retired Brock Lesnar and appears set to solidify his position as the future of WWE against Bron Breakker at this weekend’s Sunday Night’s Main Event.
He has also teased that he’s coming for Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweight Championship, however, he’s not yet met with ‘The OTC’ on WWE screens.
While WWE could decide to just give Femi a title shot given he already earned one by winning King of the Ring, expect him to get his true definitive win at the Royal Rumble in Glendale next February, and go on to challenge Reigns at WrestleMania 43.
Sami Zayn
After Oba Femi, it really feels like a big drop to who would be considered the number two favorite to win the Royal Rumble match, but Sami Zayn may have the next best shot.
If Zayn had yet to win the Undisputed WWE Title, his chances of a Rumble win would probably be a lot higher, but given that WrestleMania 43 is in Saudi Arabia, he’s still got to be viewed as a favourite.
Zayn very well may win back his title before we get to Arizona, as he’s currently doing everything in his power to get a rematch with CM Punk. However, if the title continues to allude him up until the Rumble, a big win in the match would give him the opportunity to finally correct all the injustices of 2026.
Whether it be against CM Punk, Cody Rhodes or potentially even Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn headlining WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia would be a special moment.
LA Knight
Despite all the stop-start pushes and failed title opportunities, LA Knight remains one of the most over babyfaces in the entirety of WWE.
With fans crying out for Knight to finally get his first world championship win, he appears set to get an opportunity at Money in the Bank on October 10 against Roman Reigns – although nothing has been announced as of yet.
If Reigns defeats Knight, as many would expect given WWE’s apparent unwillingness to give ‘The Megastar’ the ball, it may only increase the fans desire to see him finally get his time in the sun.
Similarly to Daniel Bryan’s Yes! Movement and KofiMania, with enough fan support fans could push Knight all the way towards a Royal Rumble win in Arizona.
