WWE has a missing wrestler: Where is Enzo Amore after Big Cass’ return?

Big Cass made his return to WWE last month, but it feels like something – or more specifically someONE – is missing.

In 2016, Big Cass and Enzo Amore were called up to WWE Raw from NXT as one of the most popular tag teams in the world.

About a year later, they were split up, and about a year after that – in 2018 – they were both fired.

All these years later, word came out that Enzo and Cass were set to reunite and return as part of WWE’s effort to rejuvenate its tag team division, but instead, Cass is back in action and Enzo is nowhere to be seen.

Big Cass’ return hasn’t set the world alight

Cass’ return was a semi-big deal for about a day, and since then, he’s just been another body on the roster. Yes, he’s quite tall and in much better shape both physically and mentally than he was last time around, but there’s still nothing exciting about him when he’s on the show.

Big Cass and Baron Corbin’s returns are both pretty bizarre. They’re both tall heels who are now in their 40s, and their jobs so far have been to put over Je’Von Evans in Cass’ case and Trick Williams in Corbin’s case.

But are Evans and Williams more popular coming out of those rivalries? No. Are they better wrestlers for working with Cass and Corbin? Quite frankly, no. So… what exactly have we achieved here?

Big Cass has never been inherently bad, but the best part about him was always Enzo Amore. That’s not a knock, it’s just a fact that some wrestlers are better in a tag team with someone to bounce off who they have incredible chemistry with, than they are on their own.

So, is Enzo Amore still returning to WWE?

This all begs the question, where is Enzo Amore and why did he not return to WWE with Big Cass?

Even in the weeks leading up to Cass’ return, there were reports that Amore was at the WWE Performance Center and even backstage ahead of an NXT taping, so he’s been around the company as far as we know.

Did WWE get cold feet on re-hiring him due to his controversial past? You’d think he’d have said something about it by now if that was the case, and the TKO management regime doesn’t really seem to care too much about that stuff anyway if there’s business to be gained.

The fact he hasn’t spoken out suggests there’s a possibility a comeback could still be on the cards, and for some reason WWE is just waiting for another time to pull it off.

But in the meantime, Cass is left not really doing much on Raw and becoming less and less interesting by the day.
