New Free Agent WWE NXT Signings WWE

In the aftermath of WWE WrestleMania 42, there could be a number of free agent signings brought into the company.

Looking at the WWE NXT roster, several free agents could help to bolster the brand following the main roster call-ups, such as Sol Ruca, Joe Hendry and Ethan Page.

From former world champions to established names in the business, WWE NXT could add some huge stars to the roster in the coming weeks and months.

Here are seven new potential free agent WWE NXT signings.

7. EVIL

Evil exited NJPW in early 2026 with AEW CEO Tony Khan reportedly not a fan of his work

Following his loss to Aaron Wolf at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20, it was revealed that EVIL was set to leave New Japan Pro Wrestling and explore his options elsewhere.

Shortly after the event and his subsequent departure from the promotion, reports circulated that EVIL was expected to sign with WWE.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion has been the top heel in NJPW for several years and would come into WWE with plenty of experience under his belt.

EVIL signing with WWE should see him become a major addition to the NXT roster that needs top male stars on the brand moving forward.

6. Leon Slater

In 2025, Leon Slater became a highlight on WWE NXT as a major part of the TNA Wrestling partnership.

Whether it be in a tag team with Je’Von Evans or challenging Oba Femi for the NXT Championship, ‘The Youngest In Charge’ has showcased what makes him a special performer inside the squared circle.

Still holding the TNA X-Division Championship and coming close to breaking the record as the longest reigning titleholder, Slater seems poised for greater heights in the years to come.

With his TNA contract set to expire sometime this year, it feels like Slater should go on to sign with WWE when he is available and become a breakout star for the promotion.

5. Mike Santana

Mike Santana was last on WWE TV in March, when he and OTM defeated DarkState on NXT at The Theater in Madison Square Garden

Another TNA Wrestling star who seems positioned to one day sign with WWE down the line is Mike Santana.

The current two-time TNA World Champion came back to the company two years ago and has emerged as a top star.

Now the face of the promotion, Santana has been getting a great deal of spotlight by appearing on WWE NXT over the past year.

Considering his TNA deal will expire soon, Santana would be a key signing to WWE NXT where he could immediately become a main event level talent on the brand.

4. Allie Katch

At Joey Janela’s Spring Break X event, Effy defeated Allie Katch in a Loser Leaves GCW Match.

Now that Katch is forced to leave Game Changer Wrestling, it feels like she might be ready to sign with a major promotion.

Coming in with years of experience, Allie has been among one of the most skilled and charismatic female stars on the independent scene.

Allie signing with WWE NXT could see her be a crucial veteran to add to the dynamic of young rising stars in the women’s division right now.

3. Anna Jay

Another female star who could add a lot to the NXT women’s division right now is Anna Jay.

Signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2020, Jay came in with some potential and has grown into a talented in-ring competitor and a strong character worker as well.

Despite not being a decorated champion during her time with AEW, Anna has showcased her ability and why she would be a wonderful asset for WWE NXT.

Mixing it up with new stars like Kendal Grey and Kali Armstrong or former rivals like Blake Monroe, Anna Jay could continue her progression in the wrestling business by signing with WWE NXT and finding a prominent role on Tuesday nights.

2. Hiromu Takahashi

In February, New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Hiromu Takahashi was leaving after 15 years with the company.

‘The Ticking Time Bomb’ has established himself as one of the greatest junior heavyweights in NJPW history.

Being a five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a record-breaking four-time Best of Super Juniors winner, Takahashi has accomplished everything he can in the promotion and was ready to explore new opportunities.

After rumors circulated about expectations that he will sign with WWE, Hiromu could be a major addition to the NXT roster and potentially be a future champion of the brand in the months to come.

1. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

As of April 2026, Britt Baker has been off AEW TV for 17 months

The future of Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has been a significant topic of discussion in the wrestling community.

After over a year away from All Elite Wrestling, it does not seem like Baker will make a return to the promotion in which she made a name for herself.

When she finally does become available, one would assume WWE will view Baker as a highly sought after free agent and someone who could be a major star on NXT.

Working alongside the likes of Lola Vice, Zaria and Tatum Paxley, Baker would come into WWE NXT as a big time name and could instantly find a prominent spot on the roster with all of her experience as well as impressive character work.
