WWE Night of Champions 2026 has been confirmed to be taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this June.
With the dust settling on WrestleMania 42 weekend, WWE have begun the build to their next premium live event: Backlash in Tampa, FL on May 9, 2026.
Looking beyond Backlash, we also know that WWE’s next overseas PLE will take place on May 31, 2026, with the first ever Clash in Italy event heading to Turin, Italy.
Now, as confirmed by an announcement from the official WWE Arabic social media page, we know that another international PLE will follow Clash in Italy, as WWE Night of Champions 2026 is heading to Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 27.
This will not only be the second year in a row where Riyadh hosts Night of Champions in June, but it will also be the second PLE to take place in Saudi Arabia in 2026 after they hosted the first-ever international Royal Rumble event on January 31.
WWE Looking Set For Three Saudi Arabia PLEs In One Year For The First Time
With the exception of the COVID-19 affected years of 2020 and 2021, WWE had previously hosted two PLEs every year in Saudi Arabia since the company’s agreement with the country began in 2018.
That came to an end in 2025 however, as the aforementioned Night of Champions 2025 was the only event held in Saudi Arabia of that entire year.
The change in approach was detailed by TKO CFO Andrew Schleimer in TKO’s 2024 earnings call, with the company planning to stage one PLEs in Saudi Arabia in 2025 and three in 2026, rather than two per year.
This change saw WWE stage Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia in October rather than its traditional stage of Riyadh. While nothing has been announced, it seems possible Crown Jewel could return to its traditional home in 2026, making for the third Saudi PLE of the year after the Royal Rumble and Night of Champions.
What Can We Expect At Night Of Champions 2026?

WWE Night of Champions 2025 gave fans the last one-on-one meeting between CM Punk and John Cena
WWE Night of Champions began as a PLE where every match on the card was contested for a championship, hence the name of the event. However, this concept was ditched for it’s 2010 instalment and it never returned.
A new tradition seemingly began at last year’s WWE Night of Champions event however, that being the King and Queen of the Ring finals being held at Summer time Saudi Arabia PLEs.
In 2024, WWE staged the King & Queen of the Ring in Jeddah, with the titular tournament returning with its own PLE for the first time since 2002.
Last year, the tournament returned once again, however, the King & Queen of the Ring finals were a part of the Night of Champions 2025 PLE.
It’s not yet been confirmed whether the King & Queen of the Ring finals will once again be held at this year’s event, but Triple H does appear to be a fan of the tournament and using it to determine who will receive world title matches at SummerSlam, so it seems likely we will see it return once again.
