2. Roman Reigns (c) VS. LA Knight VS. AJ Styles VS. Randy Orton – Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

I’ve got to say, post WrestleMania 39 and the deflation that came with Cody Rhodes’ defeat, it has been pretty difficult to get hyped up for Roman Reigns’ title defences.

Sure, the Jey Uso storyline was fantastic at points but nobody truly thought that the Tribal Chief’s record-breaking run would come to an end there.

This was even more true for Reigns’ only other title defence since then to LA Knight at Crown Jewel.

As much as it was great to see Knight’s ascent up the card capped off with a major main event against the company’s top star, the outcome was never, ever in doubt.

So that leads us to the Royal Rumble, with Reigns’ title run under serious threat on paper against three of WWE’s top stars, but make no mistake his chances of walking out as champion are actually greater than ever.

Reigns is not losing this close to WrestleMania full stop.

That’s why I’m glad that WWE have at the very least presented what could be his most fun defence in a long while and one that should play out a bit different than the typical formula for his matches.

Reigns hasn’t defended his title against multiple opponents since WrestleMania 37 against Edge and Daniel Bryan, so it’s certainly going to be a refreshing change, and one that allows two of the four stars to remain protected in defeat.

Prediction: Roman Reigns
