WWE
In WWE, there are a ton of former in-ring talents that have made the transition to become full-time producers in the company.
From legends like Michael Hayes to former champions like Bobby Roode, these former stars are still able to contribute to the on-air product with their contributions from this important role.
Looking at the current WWE roster, there are several names who may one day fill a similar position and still help to produce some of the company’s programming.
Here are eight WWE stars who could potentially become producers.
8. Pete Dunne
While it is not always the case, there are certainly talents that contribute as a producer, while still being in-ring performers.
The likes of Shawn Spears and Drew Gulak have done so over the past few years and will occasionally work as a player-coach of sorts.
Another individual who is currently doing something similar is known other than Rayo Americano himself, Pete Dunne.
Most recently, Dunne contributed to the amazing El Grande Americano vs. The Original El Grande Americano Mask vs. Mask Match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes, so it feels like a no-brainer for ‘The Bruiserweight’ to make the transition to this role full-time soon.
7. Nattie
Someone else who has been something of a player-coach while still being an active in-ring performer is Nattie.
The Hart Family member has opened her own training facility, The Dungeon, alongside her husband and former WWE star TJ Wilson, also known as Tyson Kidd.
Helping to provide guidance for young stars or giving current talent in-ring reps, Nattie has shown how she can offer her knowledge to those who are learning.
Wanting to have a continued role in WWE long after her in-ring days, Nattie could follow in the footsteps of her husband and become a producer when she hangs up her boots for good.
6. Noam Dar
Looking at the WWE NXT roster, Noam Dar is one of the longest tenured and most experienced members of the brand.
The four-time Heritage Cup winner has been a guiding light for talent on NXT over the years.
Considering all of his experience inside the squared circle, it feels like a natural transition for Dar to become a producer down the line.
Whether it be in WWE NXT or on the main roster, Dar feels like the kind of individual who would excel as a producer and has learned how to lay out a match very well over the years.
5. Johnny Gargano
At one time, Johnny Gargano was considered one of the best in-ring performers in all of WWE today.
However, Gargano has taken more of a backseat and unfortunately has not been as active as some fans may wish in recent months.
‘Johnny Wrestling’ could be settling into not being consistent in the ring to prepare for life after the squared circle.
This would only make sense if WWE decides to have Gargano transition to a role like producer for the company where his years of experience in high profile matches could help those younger than him and still more active in the ring.
4. Bayley
Someone else on the WWE roster who has become a source of knowledge for those learning in the business is Bayley.
Through her Lodestone training sessions, Bayley has opened the door for young stars on the independent scene and around the world to develop their talents with one of the all-time great women’s wrestlers as well as other WWE stars.
Knowing her wealth of knowledge and experience, Bayley feels like someone WWE would want to utilize long after her days in the squared circle.
Being a multi-time WWE Women’s World Champion, Bayley has the credibility and credentials to become a premier producer for the women’s wrestling in WWE for years to come.
3. Finn Balor
Finn Balor is in his 40s and still in top form as an in-ring competitor on the WWE roster.
The first ever WWE Universal Champion most recently made the move from Monday Night Raw to Friday Night SmackDown.
At the age of 44, there is never any guarantee when it comes to how long Balor still has left in the ring.
Balor being the latest star to transition from in-ring performer to producer would make a ton of sense and give him the chance to pass down the knowledge he has gained from his time in WWE as well as in Japan and Europe.
2. Sami Zayn
Another WWE star who has a massive amount of knowledge to pass down as a producer is Sami Zayn.
With over 25 years of experience inside the squared circle, Zayn is one of the most trusted veterans on the WWE roster today.
Over the course of a 13-year run in the promotion, Zayn has won almost every title outside of a world championship and has become an expert on how to lay out a compelling story in the ring.
Considering everything he has learned in WWE, ROH and PWG, Zayn feels like someone who could bring something new and innovative to the in-ring product as a producer if he ever wanted to transition to this role.
1. Kevin Owens
Another WWE star who has similar traits that he can bring to the producer role like Sami Zayn is of course his longtime frenemy, Kevin Owens.
‘The Prizefighter’ has not competed inside the squared circle in well over a year after suffering a serious neck injury that required surgery.
During his time away, Owens has continued to contribute by becoming one of the Legends on WWE LFG, giving his expertise to those young stars training at the Performance Center.
With this experience under his belt, it would be logical for KO to make the transition to a producer role and help to bring his unique take on match layouts or how to work an angle to the WWE product in a different way.
