WWE star Danhausen has spoken out of character on marketing your character in wrestling and playing to your strengths.
Danhausen officially made his debut at WWE Elimination Chamber back in February, with his debut being met with a negative reaction from the fans in Chicago after he was unveiled from a mystery crate.
However, Danhausen very quickly won over the crowd, with him now a beloved figure in the company, crossing over to ESPN and competing on premium live events.
Danhausen Speaks Out Of Character To Bayley’s Students
Danhausen’s character work quickly found him success in WWE, and he has now given advice on how to market yourself as a wrestler.
Danhausen appeared in Bayley’s latest Lodestone Vlog, where he spoke to her students about character work in wrestling.
He said:
“The athletic part is important but it’s not everything, which is good because not all of us are super athletic, I’m not, but I made that a strength, and you guys can do that too as long as you focus on what you do well. I think William Regal said that, I just hide all the shit that I’m bad at and focus on the things I’m good at. That seems to work, I’ve used that and it seems to work for me.
“If you’re an independent wrestler and doing merch, I try to follow the rule of ‘would I wear this’, and if I wouldn’t wear this, I do not release it because that shit sucks.
“That’s kind of the character too; what do you like? What movies do you like? What music do you like? I know B3CCA does the popstar thing, you’ve taken that and made a character out of that, and that’s something people can connect with and stands out, and that’s the best thing is to stand out.
“I know (convincing people on your character) is not easy, it’s just kind of deciding if you want to die on that hill. If it is really worth it then yes fight for it and be like ‘this is my shit, this is our time, 5 to 10 minutes, to show these people who we are and this is who I am, can we think of a way for us to get into this? I think it’s just a way of being respectful and being nice.”

Danhausen Resurrecting A Former WWE Star?
Since Danhausen successfully cloned Minihausen back at WWE Backlash for his match with The Miz and Kit Wilson, he has been seen backstage on SmackDown working on another experiment.
Danhausen’s lab features what appears to be a body under a sheet, leading to speculation that he could be about to ‘resurrect’ a former WWE star.
The first name that comes to mind is Baron Corbin, who is reportedly on his way back to WWE, and could become a new partner for Danhausen.
Another potential name is Big Bill, as his AEW contract is reportedly set to expire soon amid rumours of Enzo Amore making his return to the NXT brand.
