WWE Stars To Join New Triple H Faction

A couple of years ago, The Rock made headlines with his return to WWE in the build-up to WrestleMania 40 when he threw major creative plans into disarray.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H had plans for Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes laid out that The Rock tried to overthrow so he could face Reigns instead, before he was ultimately convinced otherwise.

At the time, there was a big fantasy idea that this would lead to a big power struggle storyline in WWE with Rock representing the TKO board and Triple H representing the WWE creative team.

Rock is still on the TKO board, and while it wasn’t him directly this year, TKO has continued to insert itself into top WrestleMania storylines, with his attempt to turn Cody Rhodes heel last year which resulted in Cena turning instead, and then Pat McAfee getting involved in Rhodes vs Randy Orton this year, which was more of an Ari Emanuel move.

If this big power struggle storyline does eventually end up playing out, here are four WWE stars who could be top names to representing the Triple H side – essentially the key stars of his run leading creative so far.

CM Punk

One of the memorable moments on the road to WrestleMania 42 a few months ago was the CM Punk promo on the April 6 episode of WWE Raw.

During this promo, as well as firing shots at his Mania opponent Roman Reigns, Punk also had some choice words for Pat McAfee, The Rock and Ari Emanuel.

After the show, it was reported that Punk’s promo was pretty reflective of the opinions of people in WWE about the TKO side’s involvement in the WrestleMania build.

Punk and HHH have had their issues in the past, but they could believably unite on behalf of the wrestling side of WWE against the business side.

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has long been a favorite of Triple H, from the start of HHH taking over NXT almost 15 years ago, all the way up to present day.

HHH has often praised Rollins as being Mr Reliable, the man he can count on to deliver in any main event situation – hence him being crowned the first winner of the current version of the World Heavyweight Championship, tasked with establishing that title.

Rollins would definitely be one of HHH’s chosen front men – if not THE chosen front man – to represent him in battle.

Cody Rhodes

All things considered, Cody Rhodes has really been the poster boy for the Triple H era of WWE.

On top of that, Rhodes has a built-in storyline with The Rock that still feels like it hasn’t had its proper conclusion, with an eventual match teased between the two that we might never end up seeing.

In this fantasy storyline scenario, Rhodes would be guaranteed a major role, whether that would be as Triple H’s captain, or turning heel to side with The Rock, which – don’t forget – is exactly what Rock wanted last year.

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is rightfully regarded as the guy Vince McMahon pushed, but it’s not like Triple H has done away with that.

Reigns is still positioned as the single top star in WWE, even above the likes of CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, with the company looking to recapture something from the remains of the Bloodline story.

And, of course, there’s the small matter of Reigns’ history and relationship with The Rock, and this could be the story that finally leads to the long awaited Rock vs Reigns match.
