WWE
Sunday, October 4 will see The Vision’s Austin Theory and Bron Breakker hit the 90-day milestone in their WWE World Tag Team Championship reign. Not a single time in those 90 days have the pair put their titles on the line.
This lack of activity isn’t an issue exclusive to The Vision’s run as champions, as the likes of Judgment Day, New Day and The Usos’ run with the belts have also been guilty of this in recent years. It’s also obviously not down to the stars holding the titles; they don’t make the matches after all.
The Vision have been preoccupied with Oba Femi for much of those 90 days, but that’s no excuse as there are plenty of teams who could have taken the belts off their hands whilst that feud has been going on.
While it should have happened a while ago, it’s certainly now time for a change to be made, so here are three teams who could potentially dethrone The Vision for the World Tag Team Titles:
Alpha Academy (Otis & Akira Tozawa)
Along with Oba Femi, The Vision’s primary rivals over the Summer have been Alpha Academy’s Otis and Akira Tozawa, with the feud stemming from Maxxine Dupri’s heel turn.
Not long after Dupri’s betrayal, Otis was taken out by The Vision for around a month, leaving Tozawa to continue the feud on his own.
Once Otis returned in early September however, it appeared as if we were finally set to see Alpha Academy get their overdue title opportunity, but it never came.
The angle has now seemingly been dropped without explanation, so who knows if that match is coming or not. Rather than build up another new contender, WWE should do teh easy, straight forward and logical thing and just book Otis and Tozawa to finally win the belts after Money in the Bank – something that would then open up several other heel teams to potentially capture the gold… Such as:
Rusev & Ethan Page
One of the unexpected highlights of Monday Night Raw around the mid point of the year was Rusev and Ethan Page’s alliance.
The two heels, united by their pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship worked together to achieve their goal of winning the title; working as foils for the likes of Je’Von Evans, Chad Gable and Dragon Lee.
Rusev has sadly been out of action since late July but is said to be nearing a return, so hopefully we see him reunite with Page once he does.
The IC Title may still be the focus, but if Page fails in this pursuit, perhaps he and his Bulgarian friend should turn their attention to tag gold instead.
OTM (Lucien Price & Bronco Nima)
The most high profile title change WWE could book is putting the World Tag Team Titles on Raw’s newest team: OTM.
Lucien Price & Bronco Nima have been all over WWE TV since debuting alongside Royce Keys as the 946, and are involved in an all out war with The Bloodline heading into the last third of 2026.
With The Usos on one side and OTM on the other, WWE should get the World Tag Team Titles involved and put the belts on either team.
While the titles would only be a small part of the overall story, it would at least get them involved in Raw’s top storyline, rather than languishing in The Vision.
