John Cena vs Kazuchika Okada
Every now and again, when all the moons aline, Cena can pull off an amazing match. You don’t even have to go too far into the past to find one either. His matches with AJ Styles were among some of the best of 2017, and while it may stand as an unpopular opinion, I enjoyed his rivalry with Reigns in the same year. But just imagine putting the face of WWE against the Face of New Japan Pro Wrestling. While the two pose very different in-ring attributes (and a language barrier may be an issue) I would have no doubt that Okada could put the man through his paces and the pair could pull off something timeless.
Brock Lesnar vs Shinsuke Nakamura
This entry is 100% cheating as it has already happened back in 2006 after Brock walked out of the WWE and his NFL career flopped. He headed over to NJPW, where he met a fresh-faced Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP championship. However, back then Nakamura still had yet to discover his ‘Rock Star’ persona and Lesnar was still on the highway heading towards Suplex City. Now the pair have found themselves and I would very much love to see this again. If Nakamura brought his current heel style promos against Heyman’s they would be pure gold. He could once again unleash a ‘strong style’ fight, battling against the Beast Incarnates aggressive UFC style beatdowns. The only problem would be Lesnar would have to turn up first.
