The finals of both the WWE King & Queen of the Ring finals are now officially confirmed after SmackDown tonight.
On WWE Raw this past Monday, Oba Femi defeated Dominik Mysterio and IYO SKY defeated Raquel Rodriguez to make up one half of each final.
Tonight’s SmackDown played host to the other two semi-finals – Jey Uso vs Je’Von Evans, and Charlotte Flair vs Liv Morgan.
In the first of those matches, it was Uso who scored the win, so the King of the Ring final is Oba Femi vs Jey Uso.
As for the women’s side of things, before Flair vs Morgan began, Flair was attacked backstage by B-Fab, Jade Cargill and Michin which weakened her leg for the match against Morgan.
Battling through the injury including a point where medical personnel and Nick Aldis tried to convince Flair to forfeit the match, Morgan eventually made Flair tap out with a Boston Crab on the injured leg, which means the Queen of the Ring final is IYO SKY vs Liv Morgan.
The King & Queen of the Ring finals take place at WWE Night of Champions on June 27, with the tournament winners earning a world title shot at SummerSlam at the start of August.
Morgan is already Women’s World Champion, so she’s already explained that she plans to go after Rhea Ripley’s WWE Women’s Title in an effort to become a double champion if she wins the tournament and earns the SummerSlam title shot.
In other matches made official for Night of Champions tonight – Trick Williams defends the United States Championship against Ricky Saints, Tiffany Stratton defends the Women’s United States Championship against Jade Cargill, and Cody Rhodes defends the WWE Championship in a three-way against GUNTHER and Sami Zayn.
LA Knight Vs. The Bloodline: A Lose-Lose Situation For The Mega Star
By Jamie Toolan
While LA Knight remains a very popular member of the WWE roster, his continued obsession with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline is putting him in an awkward position that could result in fans turning against him.
For months now, Knight has been calling his WrestleMania 42 teammates Jimmy & Jey Uso out for once again falling in line alongside Reigns in his rebuilt Bloodline, something that has not been appreciated by Jey, nor Reigns himself, who called out his former rival after WWE Clash in Italy.
Hopefully Knight’s complaining will lead to a program between he and Reigns, however, that poses problems given Reigns massive popularity with the crowd.
Despite fans patiently waiting for WWE to pull the trigger on an LA Knight babyface world title push for several years now, the company may have no choice but to turn him heel instead if they force him to against “The OTC” as that’s a popularity battle he simply won’t win at this point in time.
