Jamie has been covering the world of wrestling for four years and currently holds the position of Assistant Editor of WrestleTalk.com. During his time working for WrestleTalk.com he has written and published over 4,000 news and feature articles covering events and happenings from WWE, AEW, TNA and a variety of international and independent wrestling promotions.

Trey Miguel has announced that he has officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling, extending his stay in the company to almost eight years.

The past few weeks has seen many comings and goings in TNA Wrestling, with Myla Grace, Steve Maclin, Tessa Blanchard and Tommy Dreamer departing, while Tasha Steelz and Allie inked new deals with the promotion.

While the promotion could also be set to lose its current World Champion Mike Santana, it has now been confirmed that Trey Miguel has signed a new TNA deal.

The news was initially broken by the former two-time X-Division Champion on the Battleground Podcast, with Miguel announcing:

“As of three days ago, I have officially re-signed with TNA.”

Miguel would then share a funny story about breaking the news to his father over text, but crucially forgetting to put a hyphen between re and signed:

“Hilariously enough, the day it happened I went to text my dad and I said it, but I didn’t put a dash between re and sign and he called me like, ‘You resigned.’ I was like, ‘No!’ It’s weird how just that dash can make a world of difference when you’re sending that to someone in a text message.

“But no I’ve re-signed. I’m happy to stay at TNA. It’s always been home for me. This coming October will make eight years. So, let’s see if we can get to 10.”

Explaining his decision to remain a part of TNA, Miguel pointed to Impact’s TV deal with AMC as an opportunity he’s been “waiting for for so long”:

“It’s always been home… I was there when we had the worst of TV deals. I was there when we had Twitch, we didn’t really have a big platform. I was there when we had no one in the crowd, going through COVID.

“The opportunity we have ahead of us with AMC is something that I’ve been personally waiting for for so long. For us to be on a bigger platform on national television, on cable television, I want to see that through so bad. I don’t want to leave halfway through the first year of it, I want to be a part of this thing.

“It’s a payoff to all the hard work that I’ve given TNA. It’s a payoff for TNA’s hard work and I had no interest in leaving in the middle of that.”

Miguel re-signing with TNA is the latest chapter in what has been an eventful 2026 for the 31-year-old.

In January, Miguel was signed by AEW along with his teammates in The Rascalz: Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed, however, before he could make an appearance on TV, Miguel was released by AEW, while Xavier, Wentz and Reed remained.

While he stated he was taking a break from pro wrestling shortly after news of his AEW release, Miguel would instead return to TNA and begin his current run with the promotion – a run that saw him capture the TNA International Championship back in February.
