Nic Nemeth has opened up on recent major shake ups taking place in TNA Wrestling, admitting it has been ‘a little weird’ behind the scenes.

Over the past few days, there has been some major behind the scenes changes in TNA, with Tommy Dreamer among the most notable departures from the company after almost 10 years as part of TNA.

Dreamer wore many hats behind the scenes in TNA, including as part of the creative team, which is now set to be headed up by Delirious following Dreamer’s departure.

Speaking on the recent changes on Busted Open Radio, Nic Nemeth opened up on his thoughts, noting that morale backstage had started to drop due to people not knowing what is going on.

He said:

“Morale when we were building together to get that TV deal, it couldn’t be any higher. Then as we move on it’s gotta drop down just a little bit, and then it’s like ‘man some people are leaving’, and I don’t know exactly what’s going on.

“When I hear something at work, I don’t want to hear it second or third hand and then apply it to someone, and apply it to the office, to where I’m hating two different people without even knowing the story.

“I’m gonna get the scoop on what’s happening now in two weeks at the pay-per-view but most importantly I really think the locker room is such a huge aspect, it’s what got me to sign on to TNA, and I thought we were in a really good place, but I think the past couple of months it’s been a little weird backstage, it’s been different, and I don’t exactly know why, I can’t put my finger on it.

“The influence that Tommy has had on our show, on creative, I’ve only been there two and a half years, he’s been there a decade back and forth doing so many different roles. So many of us pride ourselves, ‘I can be the opening match and steal the show, I can go out in the main event, I can be the one that sends everyone to intermission’, we all pride ourself on that.

“I don’t think I could do any of those roles you don’t see behind the scenes, where everyone in the entire company and any independent wrestler is probably texting and calling you every single day because that’s what you think you’re supposed to do to get ahead. I have Tommy Dreamer’s email? You better believe he’s getting my match from this weekend, he’s getting a text ‘hey I know you’re coming to New Mexico this week, can you come and get me’. Imagine that every single day. I would throw my phone in the river, Tommy lives off that, because he actually knows everybody and knows what they’re capable of, and is just a valuable asset to any company.”

What Is Next For TNA Wrestling Following Recent Changes?

TNA’s Slammiversary pay-per-view event is set to taka place next weekend, which will likely mark the first show of the future of TNA.

It has been reported that Road Dogg is being considered as a potential replacement for Tommy Dreamer in TNA creative, as well as a potential agreement with OVW for the company to serve as a pseudo developmental promotion for TNA.

With some top stars leaving the company, and the contract of others set to come up soon, including reigning TNA World Champion Mike Santana, TNA should look to bring in some established faces to steady the ship, as well as rising young independent stars to build the future of the company around.
