WWE
WWE has canceled their Friday, September 4 SmackDown taping in Cincinnati, OH according to the event’s listing online.
On May 7 WWE announced 16 new Raw and SmackDown events taking place in the United States between June 29 and September 7.
Well, it seems that WWE are now down one from that number, as, according to the event’s Ticketmaster page, the September 4 episode of SmackDown in Cincinnati, OH is canceled.
When visiting the event page, prospective ticket buyers are greeted with a message that reads:
Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.
You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the
original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.
Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.
At the time of writing, WWE’s own official events page still has the event listed to take place at the Heritage Bank Arena in Cincinnati, and WWE have yet to announce any change to their plans for the show.
We will provide further updates on the status of the show as/when they become available.
WWE Set For Blockbuster Episode Of SmackDown Before Overseas Trip
While the status of the September 4 show is up in the air, fans in Kansas City are set for one of the most stacked episodes of SmackDown in quite some time tonight (June 19).
Following the controversial ending to their match at Clash in Italy, GUNTHER will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title in a commercial free rematch.
Sami Zayn was hand-picked by GUNTHER to be the Special Guest Referee for the match, with Zayn and Rhodes’ soured friendship seemingly giving GUNTHER the upper-hand as he looks to capture his first Undisputed WWE Title.
Elsewhere, the King & Queen of the Ring Semifinals wrap up with Jey Uso taking on Je’Von Evans and Charlotte Flair facing off with WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. IYO SKY will be awaiting the winner of Flair vs. Morgan in the Queen of the Ring Final at WWE Night of Champions, while Oba Femi will take on Uso or Evans in the King of the Ring Final.
The WWE Tag Team Titles are on the line, as Damian Priest & R-Truth defend against The MFTs (Talla Tonga & Tama Tonga), and Carmelo Hayes and Ricky Saints will face off for the opportunity to challenge Trick Williams for the United States Championship at WWE Night of Champions.
