Adam Copeland & Christian Cage Win AEW World Tag Team Championship, Beth Phoenix (Beth Copeland) Returns At AEW Double Or Nothing 2026

Adam Copeland & Christian Cage captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship to kick off tonight’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Back at AEW All Out last year, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage faced off against FTR for the first-time ever, which saw Cope and Christian pick up the win thanks to interference from Copeland’s wife Beth Copeland (Beth Phoenix).

After the match, FTR delivered a Spike Piledriver to Beth, with Cope and Christian taking time off AEW after the angle.

Cope & Christian would return at AEW Revolution, where they took out FTR after their match with the Young Bucks, setting up a rematch between the teams at the following month’s Dynasty event.

FTR picked up the win at Dynasty, with the rubber match taking place at tonight’s Double or Nothing event in an I Quit match, with Cope and Christian no longer able to team together again if they lose.

The rematch between Cope and Cage and FTR kicked off tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing event in Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

The match saw Cope and Cage score the win after Beth Copeland made her return to AEW to fight off Stokely Hathaway, winning them the AEW World Tag Team Championship for the first time in their historic careers.

This is the team’s eighth tag team championship of their career, with them holding the WWF/E Tag Team Championship seven times prior.

Adam Copeland & Christian Cage Add AEW Gold To Their Storied Tag Team Career

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have now added an entirely new promotion to the list of companies they’ve held tag team gold in as they are the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

While Copeland’s AEW career kicked off with a feud between himself and Cage, things have come back around to a reunion and FTR has been a perfect heel team to pair them up with over the past few months.

Not only are they close friends with Copeland in particular which can only help when they’re working together, but they also have the skillset to make sure Cope and Cage shine as legendary babyfaces as best as possible.

It’s unlikely that this feud is over, and we may well see another big showdown at All In London at Wembley Stadium this coming August, with one possibility being a big TLC match with Cope & Cage, FTR, and the addition of the Young Bucks, as an homage to the legendary TLC matches with Cope & Cage (Edge & Christian) in WWE against the Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz.
