AEW Star Reveals Previous ‘Bad’ Ring Names AEW

A recently signed AEW star has revealed how he came up with his ring name and other options that weren’t quite up to the mark.

Action Andretti made his AEW with a shock victory over Chris Jericho on December 14 2022 and recently expressed his gratitude for the opportunity.

Speaking on AEW Unrestricted, he would also discuss his ring name and other names that may not have been quite as good as the one he chose.

Andretti would address his ring name, saying:

“With my style of wrestling, I bring a lot of action.

“I like the double A sequence that the name has. Andretti is just a name I kind of came up with.

“And with the help of my coaches at wrestling school, we kind of just … I had a bunch of names I was going to go by before.”

Whilst he would be coy about the list of names, he would eventually share some of the past names.

Andretti revealed:

“We used to have birthday party matches at my wrestling school … that’s what you do before you get on actual wrestling shows.

“I worked one of those birthday party matches one day, and my coach was like ‘You’re going to be called The Singlet.

“And I ran with The Singlet for like, two months probably.

“And then another one that I had was Tyler Takeoff. I went as Tyler Takeoff for a little bit.

“I thought I’d take off, put a little T thing here or whatever. It was bad. It was bad.”

On December 15 2022, it was announced that Action Andretti had signed with AEW.

Andretti also recently discussed the support he has received from fellow AEW roster member Ricky Starks.
