While AEW veteran Arn Anderson only recently took Wardlow under his wing on TV, the legendary figure has named another member of the roster that he would love to manage on-screen.
Answering questions on his ARN podcast, the Hall of Famer was asked who else he would like to be paired with, which Arn responded to by naming Wardlow’s recent rival Powerhouse Hobbs.
Arn explained:
“Will Hobbs. I’ve got a lot of time for Will Hobbs. I think he’s a superstar in the making. Every day he gets better and I like him as a human being. He had a rough childhood. He had two ways he could go.
“When there’s no father figure in the house, when there ain’t a lot of money in the house, it can go one of two ways, and thank God Will sucked it up, became a hell of a man, and pretty much took over being head of the family.
“It’s a powerful story and it makes him the man he is today and I’m just proud to know him.”
Hobbs looked set to have a breakout year in 2023 and was on the right track after winning the TNT Championship in March, but his reign was seen as a disappointment from fans after lasting 42 days before he lost it back to former champion Wardlow.
Despite this, Hobbs may be in line for another shot at the spotlight as he was announced as one of eight competitors in this year’s men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament bracket.
Hobbs will take on Dustin Rhodes on the June 29 episode of Collision from Hamilton, Ontario with the winner facing either Juice Robinson or Hobbs’ former partner Ricky Starks.
Speaking of the Owen Hart Tournament, CM Punk’s first round opponent Satoshi Kojima has shared his thoughts on facing to former AEW World Champion at Forbidden Door – to find out more, click this link.
