A top AEW star wants the company to have “the best women’s division in the world” suggesting that they should unite like an army.
With Mercedes Mone recently saying that “Japan has the highest standards for women’s wrestling”, AEW’s Britt Baker has stepped up with her own plans to improve women’s wrestling.
Speaking to Headliner Chicago, the first woman wrestler signed to AEW revealed:
“You have to have an army with you. You just can’t be fighting by yourself. You have to have people on your side, and we want AEW to succeed.
“I want us to have the best women’s division in the world — and a lot of people can say that maybe we do have the best women’s division in the world — but then we have to have a whole roster full of huge stars and great wrestlers and great promos.
“You have to help out, you have to elevate women when you have the opportunity, when you have the chance.”
Baker signed with AEW in January 2019 and made her company debut at Double or Nothing in May of that year.
She is a former AEW Women’s World Champion and was the winner of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup in 2022.
Her status as a pillar of the company has been called into question by one of the pillars of AEW, MJF.
Although not referring to the women’s locker room, Taz had his own expletive-heavy advice to members of the AEW roster.
