AEW Star Defends Collision Following TV Ratings Criticism AEW

AEW star Andrade El Idolo has now taken to social media to defend Collision following recent discourse about the show’s viewership.

Since the brand’s debut episode on June 17, TV ratings for Collision episodes have taken a dip.

Starting out with an average of 952,000 viewers on June 17, the June 24 show saw 692,000 fans tune in, which dropped to 550,000 on July 1, significantly lower than that week’s edition of Dynamite, with brought in 809,000 viewers.

Andrade El Idolo, who has appeared on all three Collision episodes so far, has shared a tweet hyping up the Collision show.

Showing respect for the Saturday show’s locker-room, he wrote:

“I respect all the talent of all the AEW brands, remember if they respect me, they will always receive my respect. Because they all work hard to earn a place.

“I am AEW collision and I love the locker room, we have only 3 weeks on television and we have achieved in 3 weeks what other brands have in 4 or less years, I love wrestling like all of you and the more competition we have, all this is better for the company, but I would love that the people who were in charge of preparing the first AEW Collision show in Chicago, those people are in charge of doing all the shows week after week.

“We have a lot of top talent, you will never imagine ANDRADE THE IDOL VS SAMOA JOE, CM PUNK, FTR, MIRO DAY, SCORPION, THE BULLET, RICKY STARKS, HOBBS, and more talent that I could forget.

“Thunder Rosa’s comeback will be great imagine her beating up julia hart and getting my mask back and maybe having our own championship that CM PUNK never lost.”

Andrade El Idolo most recently wrestled on the June 24 edition of Collision, with his match against Brody King ending via disqualification after he was attacked by the other members of the House of Black faction.

This came after El Idolo defeated Buddy Matthews on the Collision debut episode.
