AEW Dynamite ‘Heavily Rewritten’ Due To Adam Page Absence AEW

It’s been reported that last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite had to be “heavily rewritten” due to the absence of Adam Page.

Page, the current AEW World Champion, announced yesterday before the show that he wouldn’t be appearing, indicating that he’d tested positive for COVID-19.

Just after the show began, Dave Meltzer tweeted: “Tonight’s AEW show was heavily rewritten due to Page getting COVID”.

There’s no word yet on exactly what the rewrites were, but you would have to imagine that Adam Page would have made an appearance on the show if he was able to.

The show featured the big announcement that Page will defend his championship against CM Punk at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view on May 29.

There was also a 10-man tag team match featuring men that Page has recently been embroiled with, as Adam Cole, reDRagon and the Young Bucks teamed together to beat Dante Martin, Brock Anderson, Lee Johnson and the Varsity Blonds.

As mentioned, it’s unknown right now exactly how Page’s absence affected what was planned for the show, but we’ll keep you posted with more details as and when they come to light.
